  Tolkien
I love The Lord of the Rings. It's one of those books you SHOULD read. It's an epic spanning over a thousand pages of very small text, but once you start reading it, you're hooked.

I especially loved Tom Bombadil, the Ents, Strider and of course, Gandalf (funny site). Tom Bombadil is so cool, he has his own webpage. You can also find a proper Gandalf biography here.

What was the objective of the whole post? It was not to introduce you to LOTR (if you didn't know about it already, you're a loser and I don't want you to read this). It was to introduce this site. It's a site about the languages (tongues) that Tolkien invented. I don't claim to have read it, and I don't plan to ever read it in it's entirety. But, it's a symbol of Tolkien's greatness. Helge Kåre Fauskanger (Sex: M, girls are called Helga), has dedicated what seems like most of his life to reading all the documents he can chance upon to come up with this site. Wow!

Anyway, after (and only after) you're done reading the LOTR, you should read this. It's very funny.

Waaaay off-topic, but currently (as of May 15th, 2006), Surat leads India's search for porn. But, if you get into the details (pun intended, don't know how many of you will get it), "sex" beats "porn", hands down (a small pun intended). Bangalore's not even on the map. Come on, people!

[Note: The link provided at the end is dead. It's actually here: The Very Secret Diaries. (October 14th, 2006)]

Comments:
but the movies are for us who don't like to read fiction and just focuses on science and theory books.

@n.p.: You're right. Fine, I should have talked about the movies too. I suppose not everyone can get together the time and patience needed to read so much.

Nice blog you have.

The secret diaries are indeed amazing! And if Bombadil has his own page, why doesn't Aragorn? And Legolas, the coolest of the Elfin-kind? It's all nepotism, you know. Next thing you know, Gimli son of Gloin'll be asking for his page, under the physically challenged quota.

Why are you researching sex/porn search trends???

Er, um, I was curious. Ningenu? :)

Yes, the "Secret Diaries" are really good. nodi ondu spoof-na chennaagi maadiddare.

You've changed it from "I do NOT blog" to "I DO NOT BLOG."

What prompted this change, Arvind?

Why aren't you talking to me, Arvind? Was it something I said?

Why do you NOT blog? You should more often.

The secret diaries link is dead :(
I want!

Plus the movies are not the same. At all.
Wny not mention Silmarillion and The Hobbit while you're at it, though?

@tharunya: Er, I didn't know where to respond. I'll do that here.

Considering a lot of movies based on books, the LOTR movies keep it as close to the real thing (um, book) as possible. But, you're right. They can never match up to the book(s).

The Hobbit, I should have. I missed out on that one. But, the Silmarillion, I haven't had a chance to read. I wasted time in college instead of reading books like the Silmarillion. Now, I have no time. Sigh.
